GRP226 Assesment One - Brief 2 (wk4)

So I've completed my final of the 4 brief for GRP226. I chose to do the Laser Eye Surgery option, I must admit I'm not really that interested in the radio/tv briefs at this stage. Having worked by myself for this componant of the assesments, I find that trying to record a commercial and be in it or direct at the same time might prove difficult- plus I dont really know how to work a camera... a whole new headache...AVERTED!

For this brief, I had to create a double page spread for Laser Eye Surgery, I had a bit of fun with it and tried to come up with some different slogans, some trying to be smart and some plain stupid.. this is what I came up with:
* Lose the Glasses, Gain appreciate from the Masses
* Don't Let glasses define you, let the real you shine through
* Feeling Framed? Release your eyes
* You CAN be a geek... without LOOKING like one
* "Men seldom make passes at girls who wear glasses" { Quote by Dorothy Parker}
* Sick of being framed? Expand your vision
* Feel boxed in? Break free from glasses (or barriers/frames/specs)
* Sick of having every picture framed? Remove the frame, It'll never be the same  (yep..pretty lame!)
* "Glasses obscure everything they don't make clear" [Quote from Joseph Joubert}
* Who needs glasses? Why not drink straight from the bottle.....
*The eyes are the window of the soul, do you want yours framed?
* Laser eye surgery, don't make a spectacle out of it!
* Not all thats beautiful needs to be framed, live outside the glasses.

I worked through a series of proofs for this one, they can all be seen on FLICKR!

My final is:

GRP226 Assesment One - Brief 3

So I have been working on my 3rd brief- Sensa Pens.

I have to come up with three adverts for a campaign. I am hesitant to keep the same feel throughout the 3 adverts- I feel that using three that are fairly similar will only seemingly appeal to one target market- although the contents within the advert might be different- the layout (if the same) would perhaps get a little boring?

I am thinking I might have 3 different adverts that have their own feel and meaning. This way it can target several markets- I have uploaded 17 different proofs onto my FLICKR account. Some have just subtle differences to others- whilst some run with different concepts to the last. I have had quite a bit of fun with this assignment - trying to think outside the square.

I am working on the documentation for the brief and once I decide which adverts I will put forward as my final 3 I will be able to finish my documentation.

On another note - damn this election TV stuff sucks.... its on every damn channel!!

VPA105 Faces by Image & Text

So our next assignment was to create 4 faces out of images NOT using any facial parts, and also create 4 faces using text only. I was lucky enough to get glandular fever about 2 weeks ago- and it seems to have just gone great since then (note the sarcasm!).

I hope that my creations are what was required in this assignment - I dont feel that I have done my best work because of being sick - but I feel that I have at least addressed the brief.

All of my images can be seen on FLICKR also for this assignment.

VPA105 - ME*IS*I Mag **REVISED**

So I got some feedback from my lecturer - I have made a few changes to the proof, and I think it has made it a little more complete in design. I have stuck to a colour palette of black/white/blue and a tiny bit of orange. I think that it works well.... I have uploaded it to FLICKR, and there's a small version of it below:

Now onto the next task.... another grp226 brief...

VPA105 - ME*IS*I Magazine Cover Art

So I have created my magazine cover art, as tedious as it was at times, I think it looks pretty good. Am still unsure if it will attract both a male and female readership but hey... I tried!!
I have uploaded all of my work onto FLICKR and also onto INTERACT.

My whole process has been pretty long, overall I made a 40 page document to show my process and design ideas etc. WHOA!! your saying... don't worry so am I! But I think it outlines a pretty detailed and descriptive process. I find it easier to follow this kind of process of Research, Planning and then Implementation ...it works best for me.

Once again - any feedback or comments you can give me would be great! Or if you have any ideas as to how to make it more appealing to guys/girls.
